The Western Farm Management Extension Committee is an organization of Extension Economists from the 13 western states, Guam and other Pacific Islands supported by Cooperative Extension Directors in the western region. The web site has links to a wealth of farm management resource materials from crop budgets to software tools.

Ag Risk and Farm Managment Library is an online library of Ag Risk Management materials.

The Livestock Marketing Information Center (LMIC) is an exceptional source of information on the livestock industries. The LMIC staff continuously update forecasts, projections and support materials related to market situation and outlook.  The LMIC is a unique cooperative effort between state university extension specialists, USDA economists, industry cooperators and Center staff.

Ag in Uncertain Times is a web site with over 47 archived presentations on a range of farm economy topics. Topics range from credit to human resource issues presented by industry, private not-for profit, and University leaders. Spanish language presentations are also available on this web site.

Ag Plan is an excellent on-line business planning tool that is available free of charge for anyone’s use.

Building Farmers in the West is a program that began as a regional partnership to build community and capacity among a new generation of direct market farmers and local food systems. This website provides educational support and agricultural resources for producers with varying levels of experience in agriculture.

The USDA National Institute for Food and Agriculture . NIFA’s unique mission is to advance knowledge for agriculture, the environment, human health and well-being, and communities by supporting research, education, and extension programs in the Land-Grant University System and other partner organizations. NIFA doesn’t perform actual research, education, and extension but rather helps fund it at the state and local level and provides program leadership in these areas. NIFA is the USDA agency with administrative and programatic responsibility for the Extension Risk Management Education Program.

The role of USDA’s Risk Management Agency (RMA) is to help producers manage their business risks through effective, market-based risk management solutions. RMA also has a program to fund Risk Management Partnerships, another form of grants. RMA’s mission is to promote, support, and regulate sound risk management solutions to preserve and strengthen the economic stability of America’s agricultural producers. As part of this mission, RMA operates and manages the Federal Crop Insurance Corporation (FCIC).
