| The
goal of the Western Regional RME Center (hereafter referred to as
"The Center or Center") is: Agricultural producers and their
families from across the western region who are reached by Center
projects will be in a better position to succeed through the development
of improved risk management skills made possible through the programs
conducted or funded by the Center.
Objective
1: Provide leadership and coordination for RME programs in the
region.
Objective
2a: Insure that Regional RME Programs and Resources are available
to all agricultural producer audiences and their families whether
defined by financial size, crops raised, by ethnic origin, or geographic
region, and that materials and programs are culturally appropriate

2b: Increase the capacity of organizations serving tribal members
to develop and deliver effective RME programs and to be in a position
to compete for Regional RME funds.
Objective
3: Make effective use of an Advisory Council to focus the efforts
of the Regional Center to improve the desired results of RME programs
in the region, and to evaluate grant applications consistent with
the priorities established for the region and on their potential
effectiveness to reach the goal of improved producer risk management
skills, and consistency with all applicable federal requirements.

4: Develop and implement a regional competitive process for
selection of regional projects that can demonstrate their potential
to improve the risk management skills of agricultural producers
and their families.

5: Facilitate effective public-private and other partnerships
to increase the effectiveness of RME programs.

6: Promote and conduct activities that create an environment
supporting collaboration, the willingness and ability to respond
to emerging issues and improve results, efficient and timely program
delivery, and risk management curriculum development, all focused
on producer success.

7: Establish a results verification program that not only provides
results information but that can be used to further improve programs
and more effectively target resources to create results critical
to producer risk management success.
